Saleel Tambe - Wildlife Photography

Yesterday, I attended a seminar "Keyword approach to Wildlife Photography" by Mr. Saleel Tambe who is a famous wildlife photographer, authored various books and had experience of more than 15 years. You can read more about him on his website. The seminar was more of a philosophical aspect of photography. He shared his experience and secrets which is not only specific to nature photography but as for all aspects of it.

The principles he follow is
OMG : C3
Where,
O = Observation
Seeking patterns, observing habits of the subject, knowing more about the subject and keen observation of anything around the subject with patience.

M = Moment and the tiMing
Wait for the moment that add more value to the photograph. Sometimes we just take the photographs which are not dynamic and doesn't show the USP of the subject.

G = Gears and Gadgets (Right gear, not only about camera or lens)
Not only about the camera's, lens etc but other available stuff which can enhance your shot, those stuff which can be helpful on fields to get more closer to subject.

C(1) = Conservation and Ethics
The most important aspect of nature photography is not to disturb the nature around us but the overall goal of photography should help in the conservation of it.

C(2) = Creative Vision
For eg. Instead of just clicking static pictures which doesn't add anything to the picture, try to capture motion , dynamism around the subject which others can't see.

C(3) = Craziness / Composition (i.e. breaking the rules, out-of-the-box thinking)
First follow the rules and then break it.

I like the quote from him - "Your camera should see that thing which our naked eyes can't see."

Spokn Internet Telephony Review

Past one week I have been testing the spokn paid service to call International numbers. It is a VOIP telephony service of one of its kind started from India, similar to Skype but way cheaper than it. I am bit disappointed with the quality of call, it is not clear and latency is high. They have application on most of the platforms but not on Android which is unusual though they say it works with any SIP client (I have not been successful anyway).

Note the bug - do not enable call logging or diagnostics (Help -> Diagnostics -> Logs), it will eventually hung the application during the call and you might end up debiting from your account with no reason. I have experienced this on Window 7 32-bit, on the same machine where Skype runs beautifully.

Why would I use it?

For cheap international calls, no hidden fees like skype.
Availability on most of the platforms except Android which could be major disappointment for Android fans but it is also tested to work on iPod.
Lot of other features, one can call to their local land line numbers if there is no computer.

Why wouldn't?

Haven't got the quality like Skype
Some bug (tested on Windows) hung the application and you are billed.
No mute for microphone. This is very important if you are calling from noisy environment.

Sensing Heart Beat Rate Through Phone

Yesterday, when I was browsing in health and fitness section of Android Marketplace I found an application which captures your heart beat rate (HBR) through phone without the use of any external hardware requirement. I find this solution amazing as most of the hardware like ECG and electronic monitors are costly and it is nice to have one more feature in your phone for free. Instant Heart Rate is one such application which captures HBR through the touch of index finger on the camera phone. I was simply amazed by the technology involved and due to its simplicity I was in doubt that it doesn't work for everyone and for all age groups. So as a basic test I tried on few set of people with various age group. It takes 10 second to measure HBR <3. It was almost accurate and it works best with flash (or heat generated by it).

I was also curious to know the science behind how it works!! So in few searches I found this whitepaper at IEEE which talks about the measurement of HBR through optical sensing of blood flow through the index finger. I found it very useful for lots of people especially with cardiac problems so that they can monitor themselves without much expenses and efforts.

Really great to see the smart phones getting more smarter and this is how future computing devices should work.

Wish - I want to see smart phones perceiving/releasing odors also and that I can share it on Facebook or Twitter with my friends.

Financial Planning Before You Turn 30

Google Voice in India, finally

India has waited long for Google Voice to get enabled for Indian continent. After its second birthday there are signs of testing being carried for selected accounts in India. From last two weeks, some accounts in India can see 'call phone' bot added to their Google talk list.

Using Google Voice, you will be able to dial to US/Canada for free. You can also add credits in multiples of $10 and then you can call to other part of world in nominal rates. I tried a US number and it was working :-). But why don't they offer similar free calls within India?

Though this service is not officially deployed by Google so sometimes this bot disappears sporadically and comes again (may be because of some kind of testing being done).

Overall it is a good news for many Indians whose friends and family are living in US. Enjoy!

Update: Since few days, I am unable to see the Google Voice bot in my contact list. Not sure what Google is doing with it.

I was going through Matt (founder of Automattic - the company behind wordpress.com) blog, and found some interesting facts on the infrastructure specification of wordpress.com. It is actually quite amazing figure

We'are having 8,921 CPU cores across 2,475 physical processors, 8,200 gigabytes of memory (RAM). We’ve changed how we’ve done storage, but now that layer includes on its own 1.3 terabytes of RAM, 1.3 petabytes of storage, and 8.9 terabytes of solid state disks. (Plus Amazon S3, which we use as backup to our internal systems.) - Matt said.

That's crazy for running one site but still they are getting DDoS attacks and site is facing issues serving the requests. So what is the next to keep such site running and keeping uptime close to 100%? Can that be catered through cloud computing?

First of all, Happy Republic Day to every Indian out there. I am currently busy in Bangalore - the silicon valley of India. Came here for the first time & staying at Whitefields. City looks much more advanced, clean & disciplined than other cities I have seen. Though I didn't had chance to explore in detail, hence observation might be skewed. Hopefully, I will be active from next month.

Ban on Wikileaks: Death of Openness and Transparency

Wikileaks which doesn't need an introduction which has disturbed the sleep of big brother and various other governments whose confidential documents are published by this non-profit organization. This has already boiled up government who want to hide their wrong acts. Recently Wikileaks was forced to be removed from their web host, Amazon, DNS service provider, ~~EasyDNS~~ EveryDNS [Corrected after EasyDNS send notification and update] and the payment gateway Paypal after getting pressure from US govt. Now it is fighting for its survival.

The whole act led to very important questions i.e. Will the Internet remain free, open and transparent platform? Can any government blocks our freedom of expressions? Don't we owe the right to express a truth against the powerful? Can services like Amazon or Paypal differentiate their clients due to external pressure?

Govt has a responsibility to stop those who are against country, or who creates potential threat on the basis of religion, caste, color or sex. But who will take care of governments, Media? Yeah they should be. It's their duty and this is what I think Wikileaks is doing.

Not sure, for how much time Wikileaks will survive, but it has raised a question against a closed system which should be forwarded and democratically solved.

It would be nice to hear your comments. Please share your thoughts on this.

Latency Issues while Browsing - Resolution

Everyone loves speed and when browsing if page takes lot of time to respond, getting irritated is natural. Today after browsing for more than 13 hours continuously I see suddenly that my ping to the server was taking long time and it was quite variable. There is one fact that many of us doesn't know that response time from any website is very critical factor in measuring speed & not always the bandwidth is the prime factor.

Following are some troubleshooting steps you can try out -

Ping to your IP gateway - Check for the response time from the server. If it is fluctuating & taking upto 1 or 2 seconds then there can be issues with routers, your network card or even with the gateway itself.

Flush the DNS & renew your IP settings - As shown below, use ipconfig /flushdns command to clear the DNS cache. If the problem persist, restart your network adapter or router (Control Panel > Network & Sharing Center > Network Connections) by disabling & enabling the device.

If the response time to Gateway looks okay then try to use services like PingTest.net to see the response time to server or try ping -t www.google.com . You should look for consistent response time to conclude the problem is no more.

DNS Tweaking

Another service which can improve your DNS query performance is openDNS which was discussed earlier. More details on opendns here.

Other Sensible Options You Can Try!

Use ad blocker plugins like adThwart in the browser to stop loading unwanted, byte crunching data & animations.
Use of caching softwares like squid speed up your browsing capacity by efficiently using bandwidth.
Cleaning your browser history. Recommended : Store only 1 day of history in your browser.
Stop using Google toolbars or similar toolbars which consumes bandwidth in background.
Apply the latest updates provided by software vendors.

If nothing work out, call your ISP to check modem settings and other network equipment settings.

Here is another competitive feature coming to Facebook to drain Google's Gmail. The project code name is Titan as per TechCrunch which was first came in news in Feb 2010. This will be full featured mail service just like Gmail which will keep you struck to Facebook .

Bypassing Authentication in Cable Internet System

I have been using Internet through cable since many years. Sometimes I feel very bad about the network speed, access control by ISP and other limitations though there are various advantages. Few of them are using peer computers contents which are open, sharing content with friends assuming they are on same network.
As popular quote says, need is the mother of invention. I always try to find loop holes & tricks to increase the performance of browsing. And in this journey I learnt about my network, its component, structure and how to bypass systems which are there to put us in a jail.

These service providers gets a dedicated link from a parent service provider which is usually having a Internet backbone at wider level. And they uses subscription and billing application to design plans and users/machines/bandwidth management.

Common Network Architecture

There are various subnets named subnet A, B etc. Subnet is logical grouping of network components for better manageability and control. Each subnet has a server installed which is also your IP Gateway.

This server is responsible for user authentication and bandwidth management using a web based software.

Each subnet is then connected to its parent server from where the Internet bandwidth is allocated. To improve the performance of browsing and optimize bandwidth, all the servers are equipped with Squid in transparent configuration for content caching.

Now Suppose, the parent server has a link speed of 12 mbps which is further divided for each subnet. Let's consider subnet A gets a total of 3 mbps shared. Thus total usage of all the workstations in this subnet has to share this 3 mbps and overall speed will be very cumbersome.

Hack

You have to find a way in your network such that you bypass the authentication system of your local subnet and configure your system to use proxy of the parent server of your network (marked with static IP). Usually the proxy is configured on port 80 to provide transparency.

Now question arises how to bypass the security mechanism. Now this could be a loophole in the network or the network user is a leased line user with no binding with a particular machine.

Login to your subnet server using ssh or telnet. Usually the password of these consoles are not changed. It will be by default admin/admin.
Add yourself to leased line user through the console or use any already configured IP
Use the proxy (using IE options or Individual software settings): set IP as that of parent server and port 80
The key is to use all the bandwidth that is going to be distributed through out the subnets.

You may wish to use nmap to discover network or wireshark to analyze your network and to identify plain text passwords flowing between workstation & subnet server or any other opensource software you wish which can do the same thing.

Note - Speed is a function of squid performance, its caching efficiency and the overall link speed & load on network. So sometimes you will find it very fast and sometimes very normal just like you are going through official way ;-).

P.S. This is not targeted to any company and the above said configuration is an ordinary configuration used by service providers. This may not be applied in all cases. Search Books Faster (in India)

Animesh Jain, an entrepreneur and avid programmer who has already running a cool photo shop itasveer.com has introduced a search engine which is aggregating result from various online book sellers.
Currently he is targeting four book stores viz. Flipkart, Infibeam, Pustak and IndiaPlaza. I like his idea because of following reasons -
1. Minimalist UI - just like how Google started out on. One logo, text field and Hit! button. so eye-pleasing.
2. Concurrent & Independent Search - even if one of the vendor is unable to provide result in the given time, it will gracefully hide the result.
3. Speed - I tested out the speed for few books and result were satisfactory for current scale. It needs to be validated at higher scale.
4. Best Deal - It also show the best deal in the result to quickly find out the eye-candy.

As per my discussion with him, he is planning to roll out some UI changes this weekend. And also his next target is to include other vendors increasing more options for consumer. I hope this is the unique application available in this category especially when we see Indian market.

sine wave of recession

From the above graph it is very much clear that all companies follow the same pattern if analyzed for longer durations (here I have taken 5 yrs in account). If you see during late 2007 the recession was first observed when it started hitting grounds and then in 2008 Q4, everything was looking unstable during that time however Accenture and IBM were able to handle the dip and remained sound at less margins.
This was the time when I started my career. I saw some tricky game plays by HR when they changed their policies to withstand market condition. Since then there is a growth trend which indicates better job opportunities, more projects and no waste of time simply.

Overall perspective to last 5y market of these companies suggest that the amplitude of Indian MNCs are higher during the sine wave of recession while the global MNC were able to keep it low.

P.S. - This is my personal perspective to market trend and it doesn't show any relationship with any company discussed here.

Docky - Ubuntu Desktop Tweak

Whenever I see Mac desktop I praise the application dock area at the bottom. It looks so appealing in 3-D theme and so easy which removes clutter from the bottom panel which is generally used to park currently opened applications. Yesterday I found similar application for Ubuntu which is absolutely similar to that of Mac.

It is designed with pluggable architecture. so all applications give control in dock itself. Like here in the screenshot, Rhythm Box is displaying the song title, time remaining etc. This is very handy and pleasing. So here it goes with a click, and tweak your Desktop.

Was just finishing it off but a tremor in Chennai paused me for few minutes. There is a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Nicobar Island at 1:00 am 13th June 2010 IST.

Building your own Proxy Server

There are sometimes when we don't have access to certain sites especially from Office or school networks. And then we start up searching for proxy sites and anonymous tunnels. These sites potentially create risk of phishing and catching adwares, malwares etc. Also sometimes with content sense firewalls even proxy services are sensed and blocked.

To address this, there is a work around of creating our own proxy service. Proxy is basically used to hide our IP and to surf the web anonymously and safely. It also accelerate responses by caching mechanism. There are two simple ways to create proxy server -

If you have a spare computer, you can put it in middle of your network and main node. Install squid (open source web caching/proxy server) on the spare machine with transparent setup. A good article for doing this can be found here
If you don't have extra infrastructure to put on, you can still install server on the cloud, you can use Google's App platform to install "mirror". Mirror is coded in Python and basically is a web caching server. Here is a 5 minute how-to post by @labnol. Using which I have deployed http://anjul-sahu.appspot.com and i-am-free.appspot.com

Trying hand on Win 7 and Office 2010

Today I brought 1 TB external HDD and took backup after a long time, quite relaxed. Also trying out Window 7 on virtual machine (Vista, Virtual Box 1G, 01 CPU, 128 Video Memory).

Installation was very easy and also very fast, no issues faced.

Vista is still running fine, enriched with Office 2010.
I feel for the second time MS has prepared a good operating system *win7*, after XP.
Quite fast, streamlined, useful features in terms of interface, smooth.
Its 5 am and I am still excited to test other features ;)

Getting things done - TODO list and task management

I work with a very big team spread across onshore and offshore working in different time zones. My work is related to infrastructure like Unix and Databases where high availability of services is of main concerns. This generates many ad-hoc and unplanned request everyday and due to which I sometimes forget or skew myself from the planned tasks and priorities.
Recently I went through various task management tools like SimpleGTD, Remember the Milk, Gmail TODO etc. out of which I am using simpleGTD and Remember the milk in my daily work. Microsoft Outlook tasks is complicated and if you are not using it for Email then it is not worth using it only for task management though it provides various features.

Getting things done (GTD) is a management idea from David Allen which is traditional time management approach in addition with prioritize, organize and review the work concepts in timely manner. Based on this workflow, such tools are designed which we will be reviewing here.

Remember The Milk - This is the most famous and favorite application of 2008 according to RWW readers. This is an from Australian startup and now it is available for iPhone also. The feature I like here is smart keyboard shortcuts and symbols for definition within the task text. Interface is awesomely designed. It supports creating weekly printable task lists.
TODO in Gmail - This is simple todo list but really handy as it is integrated tightly with gmail, google calendar and iGoogle. This feature came last year officially. I recommend this to use if don't want to jump into fully rich separate application just for managing tasks as Gmail todo is very light weight.
Sticky notes and classical pen and paper - This is the oldest and still very popular way of managing personal tasks on day-to-day basis. I was surfing through tkyte's blog and found this query to spell the numbers in oracle.

SQL> select to_char(to_date(19994,'j'),'jsp') from dual;

TO_CHAR(TO_DATE(19994,'J'),'JSP')

------------------------------------------

nineteen thousand nine hundred ninety-four

Lets look little close to this.
inner query: select to_date(19994,'J') from dual;
It is basically used to convert number to date and 'J' signifies Julian date format.
outer query: select to_char(),'JSP') from dual;
It is SPELLING out Julian date. J-SP means Julian Spell.

The above query may fail for very large numbers. So a better solution by Tom is here.

Here is a tip which I explored today during my experiments with command prompt. You can create or say map a virtual drive to any directory in Windows Vista. Suppose you may want to create a short mapping for a long path such as D:\Users\s\game\dir1
C:\> SUBST Z: D:\Users\s\game\dir1
C:\> Z:
Z:\> "This is pointing to the above directory"
To remove the mapping, use the following option -
c:\> SUBST Z: /D
This is like mount points in linux/unix which are basically pointers.

[Windows Tip] Quick launch shortcut keys

Today, I discovered that on Windows Vista/7 you can select an application in quick launch bar by using the combination of Window key plus number. Suppose for the first icon (here command prompt), you can do Win key + 1, for next Win+2 and so on. This shortcut is very helpful and productive on netbooks and laptops which are compact in terms of ergonomics.
I have not checked it on XP machine whether it is working there or not. Please comment your experience on XP for the same command.

Surprise, the biggest enterprise software maker Oracle corp. is acquiring Sun Microsystem Inc. for approx. $7.4B after the failure of IBM-Sun deal. Now the #1 Relational Database giant will be not just more powerful by taking extremely widespread product ranges like Java/MySQL/SPARC Hardware Platform/Solaris but also it is going to be biggest in hardware market, database market and in enterprise software.

Microsoft's CEO Balmer is also shocked by this deal because currently they holds first position as enterprise software vendor, now their competitor is just get more power and force.

Other big impact will be in RDBMS market - already being number one will also have MySQL (choice of Web) as addin by getting Sun. Both database has its own features for which they stand up separate. Overall capability is now increase which will allow Oracle to fight it's top competitors - IBM's DB2, Sybase and MS SQL Server.

In hardware market, Oracle already has allied with Hewlett Packard and Dell to deliver computing platform to handle end-to-end data processing solutions. Now with Sun, and their Sparc architecture they will fullfill their wish to own hardware platform.

GMail is back again with one new feature in its lab version after the reported outage that we have seen some days back when some of the users of gmail were not able to login.

Anyways,leaving apart they have introduced a very useful feature in mail service that you can actually hold your mail after sending for few seconds. Suppose you have missed out something in your mail and just after clicking the send button, you discovered, it will be a regret. Why didn't they had Undo feature yet?
Yes, They have introduced it now and its a unique feature. It will not exactly recall your message but it will hold your mail temporarily for 5 sec just after sending (though it is too less, but higher will be more frustrating), so that you can undo the request.

My Suggestion to GMail would be that this time should not be fixed to five seconds, a user must be able to set this according to her ease.

Those days are back when I was hanged up for hours with my computer and Internet. After a long settlement time in chennai, I am now really setting myself here so that I can live up the life. Developing the essence of homeliness in the house is the new goal, which I think is almost achieved.
Living far from home encourage us to to what we had intentionally missed at home due to our negligence and laziness. This is the time when you are being creative, act more matured and responsive and also starts taking more responsibility.
New things I started:
*Cooking - Yes, I started it not by hobby but for not having an option -
secret (my chapatis are never been in round shape).
*Increasing Social Network - just to get things done
*More regular lifestyle - it's the time which makes this happen
*Doing mistakes at work which I never did before. May be I am not habitual of doing mistakes ;)

Why I am not paying attention to my blog since 180 Days?
On August 01, 2008 I left my home to join my job in Chennai. Since then I am busy with my office work and not yet completely settled. It has been six months, I am having very limited access to Internet. As most of the sites are blocked in the office, it is very difficult to communicate with outside world. Your social and professional network is ruined just because you are not inside the box for so many days.

What I did in past six months?
I am working on Oracle technologies and UNIX. I spent my most of the time on Oracle Administration and it's related products. It is really interesting to know how it works specially when its' purely technical stuff, the food for geeks!
Apart from technical stuff, I am enjoying traveling around Chennai. I visited Mysore, Ooty, Pondicherry and some places in Chennai in past few weeks. Going to beach is a weekly activity now.

My future plans for this blog -
Firstly, To make this blog more professional, I would like to purchase a domain name and web space to move this blog to a wordpress platform. Another reason for the upgrade is - most of the sites hosted on blogger & wordpress are blocked in office networks by firewall.
Secondly, I want to focus on some areas instead of writing personal stuffs and other non-aligned artifacts. A possible idea running in my mind is to divide it into three streams viz Programming /Linux/Unix, Oracle, and Digital Life (Stuff that is useful in day to day operations).

As soon as I get some free time, I will work on the above tasks. I would like to hear your ideas about my blog and what thing you would like to read. Please share your valuable tips and ideas in comments.

They are frequently updating the UI and Technology involved in Orkut by promoting dynamic AJAX based modules.

%^*&$!# SONY VAIO LCD SCREEN PROBLEM - UNRELIABLE SONY

I purchased Sony VAIO for its class and reliability but now I am realizing it was a wrong decision. My laptop is having a series of problem since I brought. The biggest of them is in the LCD. It is showing a white line at a margin of 1 cm from top [shown in picture, click to enlarge]. And sometimes it also flickers. Which is absolutely ridiculous thing from a Brand like SONY.
Past few problems with VAIO [Model : FE-VGN48G/H]:

Sometimes mute button, volume control button doesn't work properly.
Slow on Vista as compared to the same configuration of other brands.
Harddisk stops working sometimes and lappy hangs on.
Battery life is around 70 minutes max. which is too less according to the Sony VAIO specification sheet.

I use my Lappy for around 7-8 hours daily. And till date I never gave a jerk or drop, so I am pretty sure that It's a electronics problem. I recommend don't buy a VAIO ever.

Help me out!! Suggest a solution to get rid out of this.

After writing an Email to Sony VAIO Support team about this problem, They suggested few steps to do:

Update your BIOS Firmware to the latest version.
Update your Graphic Card Driver [NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600].
Restart your PC and Check whether problem is solved.
If problem persist after following above steps, try Safe Mode.
Still in trouble, Go to Sony Service Centre with Warranty Documents.

So now I tried all of these steps, but that line is still there on my LCD. Huh? Very Annoying. :-(

Protect your Pen Drive from being affected by Malicious Viruses

Sometimes our computers in a public lab creates a havoc when you insert your flash drive in USB port. The host computer which is most of the time affected by lots of viruses, worms etc senses the drive and starts attacking before you can move your mouse. Sometimes your data is lost or corrupted, And you give a damn to that PC.

We can do the same thing intelligently :-) So What you need to do for safeguarding your data on flash drive?

The answer to this very important question can be: Before plugging the drive, disable the writing mechanism first so that no program can change the bits on the drive.

How to disable the writing mechanism?

Step 1: Open the Registry editor. you can do the same by "regedit" command on Run or command prompt.

Step 2: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies\WriteProtect

Step 3: Flip the bit to Enable Read-Only mode

Note: Make sure you undone the changes in registry after your work.

Though this method is not checked up to forensic level but it works at least logically.

If you're not a geek and no idea of registry editing and have a fear of doing the above things wrong, Don't worry we have a small application, Thumbscrew which do the same thing by a simple toggle switch.

I was searching a way through which I can track the updates of gtalk status of a person who is not in my friend list. Here is the way, But firstly you must need Google/gtalk ID of your friend.

Step 1: Login to FriendFeed, and Navigate to "Friend's Setting" on the right side up on the home page.
Step 2: Add an Imaginary friend (you will find this option through a navigation tab in the menu).
Step 3: Select gtalk icon to get its status feed

Now, it creates a virtual friend who can be tracked by you. Whenever they updates their status, you will be notified through FriendFeed updates. This method also works with various other social networks on which you're not present but you want to keep yourself updated.

To update song information directly from Window Media Player is very simple. Follow the given steps -

Open the library in WMP
Right-Click the song you want to update song information and select Find Album Info.
WMP uses Web services based architecture which first intelligently try to guess album/artist information from the partly given information.
Search the album or artist or If it is automatically searched then select appropriate song information from the given search result.
Match the tracks with the obtained tracks.

Now you have updated the song information.

Pros & Cons of this technique

Pros -

The whole process of updating information is very quick and can be done during the playback of the song.
No need of any other software or third-party plug-ins.
My Experience with this feature is wonderful, I found most of the song information.
It is quite intelligent enough to guess the Album information correctly.

Cons-

Sometimes WMP is not able to make connection with the web service.
Not able to find information for less popular, specific geographical constrained songs.

Now you can enjoy the songs with complete information so that you can do research on your own music taste and likeliness. And it also help in managing your music library.

I was reading Digital Inspiration, I found an article on OpenDNS service. This service is the biggest repository of DNS mappings and it also find phishing sites, adult sites and also those site that we shall not browse.

How it is fast?
Since it is almost complete database of DNS records, it quickly resolve the query. If you fire a query to your local DNS Server, it possibly might not find record on itself and it fires query to another nearby Server. These process increase latency time and we feel that our Internet is going slow.

We generally felt through a problem of portability of our web-based application. Consider a situation when you're developing a application on your home computer and you want to wrap them and get it to College's Lab environment where most of the times our systems are shared. Journey to Sacred India

It was Friday, we started our journey to north pilgrim places like Amritsar, Vaishno Devi etc from Indore. A long scenic journey of 1500 kms at one stretch passing through diverse states of India through our ever lazy train. Our coach was just adjacent to pantry car...ahh...smell of delicious dishes itching our stomach all the time. Moreover, we had few laughter champions along with us, they only know laughing on their PJs, eating like a Hunk and sleeping in musical rhythm....a journey to remember for the lifetime.

We reached Jammu on next day after exhausting 27 hrs long journey, and without moving our of rly station we booked a taxi to katra (2 hrs run) which is a base station to Vaishno Devi Shrine.

Vaishno Devi is already a popular place, thousands of person travel here and do trekking on the mountain for darshan of devi in form of pindies. Don't carry your camera here, its of no use because photography is prohibited. Have a look to wide panoramic shot of V.D. up to which cams are allowed. © Anjul Sahu

After adventurous tour of VD, we moved to our base station and took a stay for a night. On the next day, we did a Tata Sumo for Dharmshala (McLeodGanj), Kangra, Jwalaji, Chintpurni and Pathankot. Travelling throughout the day, in the sidelines of tropical deciduous forest and mountain ranges, reached Mcleodganj (10 kms from dharmshala).

Mcleodganj was built by Britishers and now populated with Tibetans, Christians and Anglo-Indians. I can feel the presence of these groups in their architecture styles, language and food. Nowadays, it is more popular for Dalai lama's residence at Namgyal monastery. China is against them and thrashed them from Tibet to India. Note: If you want shopping, do bargain because they tag products for four times the actual cost. Checkout the photo on your right, these horrible piece of art is of few hundred bucks, I want to buy them all which was not feasible so I took a snap of it...hehehe...now all of them are mine.

One good initiative I looked here was ban on plastics, they use paper -bags and keep the mountains clean. Nature will give you pleasure till you respect him, This is the rule of thumb which they really follow.

Amritsar: The last destination was the most divine place for Sikhs, 105 km from pathankot. It was a day long tour and favorite spots were Jalianwala Bagh, Golden Temple and Wagha Border. Jaliawala bagh & Golden Temple are nearly adjacent, and both has stitched with bloody history. The famous Jalianwala Bagh massacre, the garden saturated by nearly 2000 Indian patriots who were martyred in a non-violence struggle to free India from British domination, Gen. Dyer of British Army opened fire here on the unarmed Indians.

Golden Temple: The main attraction of the city. One can spend hours here without rethinking. It is such a spiritual place with melodious kirtans around the four corners and the architectural beauty has its own glory. Few things one should never miss here is the main temple & internal architecture style within the temple, the bhandara ( the social food) and the kar-seva i.e. the work with self interest. Wagha Border Ceremony: wagha border is a crossing between India and Pakistan. 30 km out of city near Atari international railway station. The flag off ceremony is one especial event that happens daily before sun-set. People from both the countries collect here on the pavilion and 6.5 ft high BSF troops march and represent their respective country with 120 db sound level....VANDE MATARAM.... The whole scenario just changes to patriotic glory. Note: be there on time, otherwise you'll miss the most important thing for which you marched for.

Google Labs India introduced an online typing tool in Hindi. It is basically Indic transliteration tool , for eg if you type 'aaj mein upar' , This tool will convert that english text in to phonetic hindi as ' आज में ऊपर ' .
It also has an online dictionary based support which suggest you the relevant word as you type.
Its Interface is very light so that you can use anywhere, any kind of plugin support is not required in the browser.

The policies created by government is not implemented as they must be, they can't reach at the grass root level where it is required substantially.
Nearly 30 crores people can't even get food for two times.

We must be careful towards such issues which are obstructing India's journey to peak.
Due to lack of time I am not able to raise all the issues and I wish from you that you will definitely think on it.

Resonating frequencies between two souls are like common things when someone loves or cares for the other soul. It always makes some connection logically with the minds and intuit us most of the times. Feeling such experiences proves that it happens more often when you havn't met with that soul since long time. It increases our potential to think in that direction and consequently make us feel about this metaphysical activity that happens between the minds. And this is not day dreaming, it circumstancly happens as I stated above.

Both soul thinks alike and signals are transferred through eyes or might be through unknown medium ( only used to transfer signals and thoughts between two souls) which is yet to be discovered. Mind got distracted in this activity and feels like a monkey lost in the jungle and finding out his family and friends. Your beats frequency increases apparantly and blood pressure suddenly crosses 160 pt mark ( be careful, it might sweep out the mercury).

Souls can understand the silence and this silent language can define any word which are need to be taught. The enigmatic feeling, mystic voices bombarding my head ... some neo tantric voices which always made me joyous, chords of music, I feel everything new and Innocent. It gives as power to sustain and always motivate to continue the spirit with the same potential and sometimes even more....

Today is the wonderful day in my life. On 5th June 2007, I got selected in Accenture. #1 IT service provider of the world. Feeling great, that can't be expressed in words.

I am feeling like a geese flying in the sky with the team(all accenturites selected).
more than 50 got selected from my college and now we are looking to rock Accenture.

Its all about the particular day which make this possible. The process was very exaustive, started from Written test, then followed by Group Discussion, Technical Interview, HR Interview. But Accenture guys are really Cool, they don't make us feel that this process is so long. It was real fun there in all of the interviews. Thanks to every well wisher who makes this possible.

We know what it takes to be a Tiger.

Emotions??

Emotions- It is a feeling of a human which is not so easy to define. But philosophically it means ENERGY IN MOTION. Everybody have this characteristics, some of us having in high and we called such persons Emotional / Sentimental while some persons do not show this emotions...
But what makes this feeling come up in us.... I suppose it is the environment around us which develop certain circumstances to make us feel. Energy inside us need to be evacuated anyhow otherwise it will create problems for future in shape of cardiac-arrest, mental tensions etc. Their can be several ways of draining the energy...

When you feel that you are overflowing , then you must cry to make energy out in form of tears.
or, you can punch on the punching bag until your energy is wasted in form of sweat.
or, you can give some one lots of "gaali's" and also you can crush your own tooth.
or, ______________________________/*fill this space as comment :) */

So I believe never store energy inside the body, it must be drained as they are in motion or E-MOTION. Always try to think out-of-the-box to take better decisions in case of emotional dilemmas.
Thus it makes possible to drain out my negative energy in form of tears...and I feel that my life time is certainly increased....

Solution to kashmir issue

War or Basic Governance??

The fact is that neither Gen. Musharraf nor the ISI is the real cause of the immortal problem in kashmir. It is the corrupt, impotent and non-performing governments of the state in last two decades that are responsible for the persisting tragedy.

The first solution may be a setup of Basic Governance in which Pak Occupied kashmir and kashmir in India can be clubbed up to form a state. In which the democratic government should be setup where Ministry of external affairs & Military will be guided from Indian Govt.

A dual country passport mechanism- India-kashmir passport & pakistan kashmir passport must be introduce so that a proper recording of activities of new state people can be done.

The second solution may be the rage of war, but it's like creating a havoc in the world and it can also lead to third world war. It may act as a cause of severe bloodsheds and human losses which is really hard to recover. This solution is at very extreme point so one can neglect it. I mean everyone should neglect this situation. Because Humans are the most precious element on the Earth.

The third solution is very abstract approach which might not possible for all but it is the best solution.
Leave this land for God neither India will take it nor the Pakistan. This is a land of nomads, Animals. No men should live there. Just leave it to be a heaven which it was...

A heavily controversial issue consuming lots of resources in solving the problem can be come up with the third abstract solution. simply No mans Land is the better approach.
How much money you are spending on this issue can be used to rehabilitate the whole population of Kashmir to other part of country on their own wish.

Ambiguous Mind

It is the only place where i can share my ambiguous situation of my mind...It's very hard for me to understand about my feeling...is it really correct or just a zephyr of something that should be hidden from everyone.
Actually I can't expose my thinking in front of real world, but this trauma will be explosive and i am waiting for it...This lava will be serious for me and it is a question of my soul to my soul itself. I feel it to be very complex and stony situation for me, hardest solution by the easiest heart....
Difficulties are there but the problem can't be expose, that's another problem for me...

my problem has only two solutions, acceptance and negligence? But both the solutions are revolutionary on me. This will be going to effect my entire life. Quest Quest are rowing around my mind....
time is there; but not that much
everything is there; but can't use it

Chocolate has AntiOxidants

New research published in the Medical Journal "Lancet", shows that eating chocolate could prevent cancer and heart disease and contrary to popular belief also fights tooth decay.

Research conducted by scientist from Holland's National Institute of Public Health and Environment shows that chocolates contain antioxidants called Catechins and Phenols. These antioxidants could prevent heart diseases and cancer.

Until now tea was thought to contain the largest amount of these antioxidants but this new research indicates that dark chocolate has four times as much as compared to tea. The researchers found that dark chocolate had 53.5 mg of catechins per 100 gm, milk chocolate contains 15.9 mg per 100 gm, and the black tea contains 13.9 mg per 100 ml.

Chocolate like the red wine - which is said to protect against heart disease, also contains phenols. These reduce the presence of free radicals that damage cells and DNA. Phenols are said to prevent fat like substances in the blood stream from oxidizing and clogging the arteries.

Atherosclerosis, or the formation of plaque in the arteries, is caused by oxidation of LDL (low density lipoproteins ) that 's one of the cholesterol particles. At first this leads to subtle damage, and then eventually to the formation of advanced plaque. The buildup of plaque can lead to clogging of the arteries, a major cause of heart attack.

By acting as a deoxidizing agent , the phenols prevent clogging of arteries, thus averting heart attacks. The researchers also believe that the cacao plant, from which chocolate and cocoa is derived, boosts the immune system and also restricts the formation of the type of cholesterol which damages heart.

Researchers believe that most of the bad effects of eating chocolate are either overstated or entirely false. For example, chocolate also has not been proven to cause cavities or tooth decay. Rather, it helps thwart mouth bacteria and stop dental decay.

Tooth cavities start when streptococcus mutans bacteria produce a sticky molecule called glucan. This helps the bacteria anchor themselves to teeth and form plaque. These and other bacteria in plaque convert sugar to acids, which eat away the tooth's surface and lead to cavities.

Research shows that the cocoa butter in the chocolate coats the teeth and may help protect them by preventing plaque from forming. The sugar in the chocolate does contribute to cavities, but no more than the sugar in any other food. Scientists believe that antibacterial agents in cocoa beans offset its high sugar levels. Cocoa bean husk, the outer part of the bean, which usually goes waste in chocolate production in a potent source of these agents. Research has also shown that parts of cocoa bean, the main ingredient of chocolate, thwart mouth bacteria and stop dental decay.

Also, eating chocolate neither causes nor aggravate acne, as is the general belief. In fact recent research has shown that eating chocolate or not eating it does not produce any significant changes in the acne conditions in human beings.

However, as in the case of any other food, eating too much of chocolate may cause health problems. The cocoa butter in chocolate does contain saturated fat, which can increase blood cholesterol levels, and high cholesterol may contribute to heart disease.

Chocolate is high in calories and eating too much therefore make you fat, increasing your risk of heart disease. Over eating of chocolate can also lead to obesity.
